About SWE

Solidarity Water Europe (SWE) is an international non-governmental organisation created in 1998, at the joint initiative of the Council of Europe and the International Secretariat for Water, with the support of the French Committee of Water Agencies.

Our head offices are located in Strasbourg (France). Since our inception, we have carried out many projects across Europe, especially in the Rhine basin and rural areas of Central and Eastern Europe.

Our mission

• To promote democratic management of water resources, so that the poorest populations of Europe may have access to water and sanitation
• To educate and mobilize citizens, particularly young people, by developing awareness-raising programmes
• To mobilize all stakeholders to apply the principles of integrated water resource management at the local level.
