13,500 children below 14 die every year from deceases due to the absence of qualitative water, sanitation and suffisant hygiene.
The propagation of these deceases is frequent in Eastern and Central Europe, where 16% of the population still do not have access to drinking water in their homes and more than half of the population living in rural areas does not have access to improved sanitation.

Solidarity Water Europe's missions
Before developing a local project (schools, kindergarten, public places etc.), SWE tries to understand the needs and the culture to find the best answer with local bodies (population, public bodies, etc.)
SWE field projects have 2 directions:
- Finding technical and financial solutions adapted to the local context. SWE facilitates the whole process and does the follow up of the project
- Encouraging a major involvement of the local community and in particular the youth. SWE conducts awareness and education trainings for the users of the new equipments.
