Around 200 schools, associations and youth groups have participated.

What is a European Youth Parliament for Water?

A Parliament is a European event lasting 5 to 8 days, which enables young people to share ideas, take action and cooperate for water resource management.

See is organising the European Youth Parliament for Water since 1999

An original programme:

Active learning activities: debates with renowned experts and practical field workshops (case studies, role plays etc.)

Workshops: for designing projects and creating educational tools

Opportunities to share and relax: intercultural evening, discovering the host country's culture

A democratic approach: all products and undertakings arising from the parliament are validated through consensus. Political texts are voted on and representatives are elected.

An official and public final session: held in the presence of political figures, this is the highlight of the whole event.

The objectives:

  • To raise young people's awareness and teach them about the importance of water and the principle of integrated river management

  • To support youth participation in river management, both through the implementation of actions and participation in political debate

  • To encourage exchange and solidarity in Europe around water issues among young people and those investing in Europe's youth.

The 10th European Youth Parliament for Water will take place in Arnhem in the Netherlands March 2011!
